Parking on the pontoon

Cremorne Riverside is desperately in need of a larger, more adept pontoon so that we can continue to deliver kayaking access to the tidal Thames for all our user groups. Click on the image above for a ‘tour’ of the pontoon.

Our current pontoon has been in place almost 20 years and is nearing the end of its functional life, and it’s certainly bellow par when compared with Cremorne Riverside’s other facilities.

A tidal difference of up to 8 metres would leave the river unaccessable to all users of the centre if the pontoon is allowed to fall into disrepair. A new, larger, and more accessible pontoon is essential if Cremorne Riverside is going to continue to serve a diverse range of users into the future.

The purchase and installation of a pontoon that is large and modern enough to match the ever-growing usage of the centre will require funding in the region of £40,000. We hope to build a pontoon that also provides storage for boats and with improved access to the river itself, which would allow us to work with a broader range of groups and abilities.
