The Cremorne Riverside Centre is a community facility, opened in Lots Road, Chelsea in 2008 by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is run and supported by the borough’s Youth Support and Development Services to provide an active, inclusive and exciting programme for young people and the wider community throughout the year.
Cremorne Riverside promotes sport and healthy living, and learning about the outdoors and environment. The centre provides everyone in the wider community the opportunity to take part in paddlesport.
It’s a known fact that sport and outdoor activities have a positive effect on people’s lives, especially young people. The work Cremorne Riverside does plays a vital role by facilitating this through the schools’ programme, drop-in sessions, family therapy, over-60s group, regular adult sessions, beginner courses and Kayaking London activities.
The centre has a number of programmes specifically designed for different user groups.
Kayaking is delivered on the tidal Thames and we also travel further afield to introduce paddlers to white water, surf and sea kayaking.
The Chelsea Kayak Club, which focuses on sea kayaking and touring, also operates from the centre’s premises. Inclusive to all adult paddlers of 1* ability and above, their aim is simple: to have fun and paddle.
The Cremorne Riverside Centre is licensed as an outdoor activity centre by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). Coaching is delivered by qualified staff and the centre undergoes regular safety reviews.
