The Friends of Cremorne Riverside came together in October 2010, and is constituted as an unincorporated association. The Friends is a group of like-minded individuals who support the aims of Cremorne Riverside Centre and want to help it improve for its diverse community.
We have a management committee, and anyone who has an interest in supporting the Centre can become a friend.
“Why am I so passionate about the centre and what it offers? My childhood was centred on sport and the outdoors. Being active, taking part in outdoor activities and having fun while doing it is still an integral part of my life. When I first came to London, i didn’t think being active was that accessible, but places like Cremorne prove that theory wrong. I discovered a new passion through Cremorne, and I’ve seen a lot of other people – young and old – discover something for themselves too. This ‘something’ ranges for everyone: a simple hour or two of enjoyment on the river, discovering the thriving wildlife population of the Thames, making new friends, reconnecting with family, or taking up kayaking as a sport (for some, from never really having played sport before), Cremorne Riverside has made a positive difference in all of their lives.”
